I've been reading this board for the longest time but now it's my turn to ask for some advice. At an estate sale this weekend, there was fabulous antique glass and a few pieces of jewelry and this is what I normally look for. I never buy used books but was drawn to these for some reason and paid full price. All 4 are by Elbert Hubbard of Roycroft in East Aurora N.Y. and all have only one copyright date. They are as follows: (1) 1001 Epigrams, 1911, a small leather bound book with impressed cover, (2) Little Journeys--Eminent Orators--Starr King in a brown suede cover, 1903 with hand painted illumination, (3)Little Journeys--Eminent Orators--Patrick Henry and finally,(4) Little Journeys--English Authors--Robert Southey. This one seems to be the prize as it is copyright 1899 and signed and numbered 361 of 940 by Hubbard. The condition of all of the books is really quite good, only a few pages have any foxing. Where can I find the value of these books and is eBay the place for them? Sorry for the long post but it's my first and I wanted to get the information across. Thanks in advance for any help...Lil
I advise you to go to the chatboard on the eBay site, itself, which is called the BOOK Board, and to ask the professionals there for their advice on how best to list these books for auction on eBay.

Go to bookfinder.com or addall.com to see how many others are available on line. Remember, these prices are for books that are NOT sold. Search ebay present and past auctions to see if any have sold there--this would give you a more realistic market value.

Also look at bibliofind.com
But don't take any of them seriously. What it sells for it what it's worth. Don't start them high. Don't use a reserve. That is, unless you want to end up keeping them.
