Thank you in advance to anyone who can give me some guidance.
I recently bought a book~~ Uncle Tom's Cabin.
It has the elderly gentleman on the front cover. Hardback, no DJ. There is no date of
publishing in book anywhere. Front cover
says title on top & at the bottom Mrs. Stowe.
Grossett & Dunlap publishers.
It's in really nice condition. Whether I really have an old book or not is probably beside the point because if it doesn't sell, it's great for my family library. I would love to know something about the date. I don't know how to research Bibliofind or the other sites without a date.

You probably have a reprint edition from the 1920's or so. Grosset and Dunlap never seemed to publish many dates. On an auction, anything is possible. In the real world those are worth $10 to $30 depending on how pretty the cover is and if it is illustrated by anyone. Obviously good condition is very important. Any defects to the book wil diminish the value signifigantly. Hope this helps!

Hi - I don't know anything too specific about the book, but Grosset and Dunlap did many reprints of older books.
I don't believe you will need a date to check it out at Bibliofind - just put in the title and author. You will likely get a long list, and it may or may not have the edition you are looking for.
