Yes and I'm sure that I'll never watch it, until about 30 years from now when I catch an episode on TVLand and ask "Look at those haircuts - what were we thinking ???".

Oh Yeah Baby! I am going to be the hostess. Also, we are gonna sell fake autographs and stuff. We will be doing alot of shill bidding to make sure the show is a big success.

The old Personal FX show on Fox had a segment where viewers would phone-in their bids on the stuff that people brought in for appraisal.

The bids they'd get were often beyond belief. Like $1K for a LRRH cookie jar, or $300 for a common piece of McCoy. I'd be shouting "Take it, you fool!", but most of the sellers would just say, "I'll think about it..."

Ebay TV? Bring it on!

They will need a couple good talking heads who can double-talk back and forth at each other while they are trying to bring the site back up. Maybe clips of old shows to show.

Be careful! If the tv show is run like the internet site, your cable will go out 1/2 hour before each show!

Test pattern for downtime. Right. They'll be on the air five minutes and then go down for "scheduled maintenance." D'oh!

Well I certainly hope they make it a live show. I've seen them crash in many ways, but I've yet to see them crash on network television.

I'm so glad fountainhouse mentioned the old FX collectibles show! I loooooved that show--watched it every day, learned a ton. When it went off the air, I tried every way I knew to find out what had happened--e-mailed AND called the network, asked our local tv columnists to find out, etc.--no luck. Does anyone know?

roadsmith - It was probably a victim of ratings. If you miss it, Treasures in Your Home is a near twin and even has the same host, I believe.

Cool! I can hardly wait to see how eBay will deal with their members who sell bootlegs and illegal copies of this new teevee show

I read somewhere that the reason the Personal FX show was dropped was because the FX network wanted to change its format. It is geared more to college age viewers now.

OH, HO HO HO, I can see it now, a blank screen, with the message:

If you aren't receiving this program, it is not the fault of this program, station, link, etc., please clear your cache, check your routings, etc., etc. Sorry you can't receive this program, but we are on the air and broadcasting, so the problem must be you!

LOL - Love it!

I enjoyed the Yahoo Show - it was a ton of laughs!

The "experts" either greatly over estimated the value, or highly underestimated it....value is what the market will bring, no more and no less.

But the Yahoo show did make for lots of laughs, as do all these on line shows with experts telling folks the value of their Grandmother's stuff from the attic!

Actually, for the naive public they do a good bit of harm, making them believe that they have some piece that is extremely rare and will bring a fortune when sold. We get these poor people in our antique shop all the time. They saw some stupid TV show and there was a piece just like theirs on the show and the "expert" said it was worth (whatever). They are very upset when we don't want to buy their "treasure" for some ridiculous price. (We don't buy from the public one way or the other) but that is beside the point.

We have seen duplicate pieces on these shows which we have and even on eBay couldn't sell for a 10th of what these "experts" state is the true value.

These beginning success of such shows is they attract the viewing public through greed. People wanting to believe they can get a fortune for basically nothing. In the same way they loose their audience when these same naive people rush out and find that no one wants their Grandmother's chest, regardless of price.

As I said, value of something is what the market will bring, period.

I too loved Personal FX The Collectibles Show. That's the way I found out about eBay, from one of the appraisers.

Then one day I ran into him on one of the boards and emailed him privately. He said, "sorry, FX is history". I loved that show but I don't believe it can be topped.
Test pattern 4 hrs a day. Hysterial!

Maybe Ebay could even have some "Live Interviews" of E-Bay criminals, now behind bars, for fraud and what-not... That should liven things up a little....Just think: a chance to come face-to-face with the seller who robbed you......or the bidder who [ut a stop-payment on check, and walked away with your $4,000 Tiffany Vase...
