Quick vent...
Had an auction end nearly 3 weeks ago...went hot, 34 bids, up to $162. High bidder was unresponsive to emails at first, then finally asked if she could pay via Billpoint on 10/23. I said fine, as long as she kept in contact I was willing to wait. Today, she backed out altogether...something about a part-time job falling through. The amount of $ lost doesn't bother me as much as the fact that the auction had a lot of interest, and I hate to see that go up in smoke.
99% Of my bidders are excellent...but this kind of thing just bothers the hell out of me.

Hi Julesy ... at least you didn't get the "I was in a car accident and I am waiting for the insurance money before I can pay" crap that I just got on my very first "sale" at Yahoo. It doesn't bother me too much over there tho - Yahoo is loaded with deadbeats so you almost expect it

Julesy ..... I feel your pain. I had an auction end on Oct. 2nd that received 32 bids & finshed at just over $700. I didn't expect that kind of action so I left my usual "I'll take anything" terms for payment on that auction. The high bidder has 20 feedback & said she mailed a personal check on the 2nd.
Last I heard she's cancelled that check & sent another one assuming the first one has gone MIA. I also clearly state that I ship the same day the funds arrive so I hope to god the check is good, if it ever does make it here.

Yikes, Reddeer! $700 is a lot of $, even if you weren't expecting it to go that high. You would think that, since the item got a lot of interest, the bidder would be eager to pay and get their hand's on it.

I would just give the auction to the 2nd highes bidder write him/her an email tell them that the high bidder backed out and tell him the full price that the high bidder bid! Just keep going down the line your bound to find somone!
