50 Auctions & NO BIDS IN 24 Hours!
I’ve got fifty auctions currently running. I would have had more up but I didn’t dare to attempt listing any last night. Around 10 auctions close tonight. Since all the problems last night started NOT ONE of my 50 auctions has received a bid!
Unreal!
Unfortunately, when these “functionality” issues occur the buyers have better things to do with their time. Sellers, on the other hand, have to eat all their effort and then expend even more effort to document a claim for something eBay insists did not occur.

About a year or so ago when I first started selling on ebay, if this sorta thing happened, sellers' auctions were either extended for the amount of time the service was down or received a listing fee credit. Guess that's another perk that has fallen by the wayside.

It drives you crazy doesn't it. I am planning a Disney vacation for the family next month, and we have been listing like crazy to make extra money while away, things were really picking up and looking real good, then BAM!! Bidding has ceased, does eBay think the sellers patiently sit at their computers refreshing until the site comes back up, I don't think so, I believe (due to eBays history), they leave for a while (2-3 days) and check back later. While us sellers sit here and sweat it out.....I feel a little better now.

It could be worse, my grandmother bought a vintage set of Fiesta from her friend for $20 and asked me if I could get double her money back on it. Half of it ended in the outage Sunday night and the other half last night, she could have made double or triple what I got. The snipers had just started to bid when they went down. The sad thing is, her house was struck by lightning 3 years ago and destroyed it, she is now rebulding and let me tell you this money would have gone a long way towards helping someone who lives on $500 a month get their home fixed. Like ebay gives a crap about it though. Heather

Harvestmoon I can't bring myself to be as gracious to eBay. I believe extending auctions or getting credits isn't a perk, it is getting the service we are paying eBay to provide.

smw, I see your point, but since ebay no longer offers either the listing fee credit or extension of time, I guess they were perks in a roundabout way. I agree, though, we should get the service we pay for, but that isn't how ebay is operating these days.

Hey function...
I feel the pain! the answer is called YAHOO.
I've already emailed eBay 10 or 12 times and also in the past when this has happened, response,..0 that's just plain Sh*&&y customer care. Fact is I'm a stockholder too and one would think they would put 2+2 together, yet no call, canned email responses and no refund or such.
I've had good response with onedayfree, check it out!
