how is it i get checks from billpoint (i never signed up) and now a buyer is paying me with paypal (im not a member of that). i dont understand?? i only except checks and money orders yet buyers take it opon themselfs to pay this way. but what i dont understand is "do i owe a fee to paypal or billpoint?? im real confused

Uh you can collect your money for PayPal by signing up as a user--no fee involved. Or...you can tell the bidder that you do not accept PayPal and that they can and should cancel that payment. You might want to have a non-business account for those dingbats who can't read your terms.
I never used BillPoint so I will defer on that, but a check should not be a problem nor should there be a fee.

Not an "Idiot question".
Just e-mail your customers back and point out that you do not accept payment in this manner. Their payment is "unclaimed" and will remain unclaimed because you do not participate in either service. Let them know that they should cancel the payment they have made to either PayPal or Billpoint and send you a check or MO if they wish to receive their item.
BTW - If you are not doing so, it would probably help if you plainly stated your accepted payment methods and that you DO NOT accept payment via these services in your auction TOS.

thanks!!! my terms are clear but people dont seem to read them. i hate to sound old fashion but the more everyone tries to make things easier the harder it gets. i just want it simple. thanks again for helping out.
