I have found (and yes, I do own ebay stock) that outages have little to no effect on the stock price.

Also, when looking at what a stock is doing you have to keep the overall market in mind. Look and see what is going on with other similar stocks such as Yahoo (which went up today as well).

NASDAQ soared today, ebay's along for the ride.

"...Meg Whitman said the company was not overly concerned with the decline in gross merchandise sales per member."

Their concern for how well their sellers are doing is overwhelming.
