The report from today was for the 3rd quarter. October is the 4th quarter. We will have to wait until January to see if the October outages affected ebay's bottom line for the 4th quarter.
But who knows, the 4th quarter may not be impacted, because although ebay may not be providing the services, that doesn't mean that it still isn't collecting fees.

Could someone explain to me how eBay can be having huge growth, higher profits and improving margins during the summer slump when so many sellers are reporting poor results.
There seems to be no connection between the experiences shared on these boards by a majority of sellers and eBay.

I will answer your question -
the reason is because MOST of the poster's here are a bunch of whinny crybabies, or are NARU or both, who have no idea with what to do with extra time but come here and complain.
I sometimes think that they start some of these topics, only to see how many will post or to start trouble.
sales are great for me and have been since I started on ebay.
ebay will continue to grow and be very profitable for those who know how to use it.

What summer slump?. I had wonderful sales all summer. I am having a slow month so far this month & last month's but my sales in summer was in excess of $5k each month. Of course I also sell on other online auctions sites.
Do I have to declare taxes I am really selling unwanted stuff from my basement (sarcasm). Some computer sellers sell over $15k a month online.

I highly doubt the success of ebay is as tied to the success of individual sellers as it once was. We used to be 'it' .. not so anymore! !
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!
