I live in Canada and am curious if any one has used these services. I am a seller and am getting constant requests if I accept Paypal. I understand that Paypal is not available in Canada as of yet. Has any Canadians used any of these services with any problems as a seller? Is there any other services for Canadian sellers? Thanks.

I also live in Canada. I use bidpay quite regualrly and have found it very convenient. I use it both as a seller and buyer. Once you get the confirmation from them that the money order has been mailed you can safely ship your item knowing your money order will arrive, it usually arrives within 10 days. It is a western union $US Money order and cashable at most canadian banks. My only concern is as a buyer, it is with convenience vs. cost (it costs $5 as a buyer to purchase a M.O from them) which is a bit high, but for me the convenience of not having to go to the post office is a plus. Good Luck
P.S Paypal is not available to Canadians

Hi Malibu80
I am from Canada too, and have had buyers use bidpay. It is wonderful! I've received the money orders within a week, I live on the Westcoast. Its quite comparable in cost (to buy) international money orders, and the convenience of using a credit card over the'net is quite appealing. Most of my buyers were from overseas.
Guuuyyy..
The $5 charge..that would be in US right? It does make it very convenient to use a credit card though.

Yes it is $5 US. Canada Post charges $3.50 Canadian for a $US money order. A difference of about $4 depending on the exch. rate. But yes it is very convenient using the C.C online and I just chalk up the extra money to convenience. After all, thats what bidpay is in business for right!

PayPal is cheaper for the buyer to use bidpay is great but the buyer pays $5 for each money order they request.
I just had a international buyer win a $1 auction who paid through bid pay just kills me to know they paid $5.00 for there money order of $3 to cover there bid and shipping the item was tradeing cards I felt so bad for them when I packaged there item I add many extra cards to there package.
Not to mention shipping if I wanted to get these Items to the buyer in a few days they would have had to pay $18.40 for me to send this letter size envelope with there items.
we decided on a much lower rate but this rate could take up to three week to get there purchase.
paypal is free for these buyer well worth useing for many sales if the buyer has a CC in a athorized country

I never used any third party payment until I had a customer send me a money order via Bidpay a few weeks ago and I was extremely satistied with the service. They emailed, confirmed, and sent payment rapidly.
My customer must have been glad I accepted Bidpay as he has purchassed several items since.

Reddeer;
You and I both know that BillPoint doesn't handle "A LOT" of countries that BidPay does and neither PayPal or BillPoint guarantee the funds to the seller 100%, no exceptions, no fancy wording.
We've now grown to over 600,000 registered buyers worldwide and almost without exception our clients not only don't mind the $5 fee - because it saves them their valueable time - but we have an 80% repeat buyer rate.
Our clients are not interested in rebates, discounts or fancy programs, they are serious bidders who... want quick and easy way to make payments.
Is there a ceiling for sellers in terms of the amount of orders or amount they can accept? NO.
Is there any ceiling or dollar limit on buyers? NO.
Do we accept international from anywhere on the planet? YES
Do we send payments internationally? YES
Is the seller 100% guaranteed payment? YES
When you add it all up, there is no comparison. PayPal, does part of what we do, BillPoint does part of what we do... "both charge the seller" - but neither of them offers the complete package that BidPay has offered since DAY ONE... and day one, was about a year before either PayPal or BillPoint began offering their services.
BidPay recently surpassed BillPoint in total listings and has grown 8-fold in the last three months making us the fastest growing online person-to-person auction payment service -and- the worlds largest issuers of Western Union money orders.
We look for to being of service again in the near future.

BidPay is wonderful! I'm thinking that on any items that go above a certain dollar amount, I'll offer the buyer a discount in my EOA email if he/she will pay with BidPay, since it IS expensive for the buyer.

Well said.
It is true, I do not mind the $5 fee because the convenience is fantastic. And i do like the fact that once i get confirmation from bidpay, the money is as good as if it were in my hands (100% guar.) I have been using bidpay now, both as a seller and buyer and from my customer responses, they like it too.

Ahhhh shucks! Now we're all red... "actually comments like that REALLY motivate the staff to do even better".
But... and anybody reading this board will be the first to know... we have something "very" special planned for our sellers as a Christmas Present.
Starting November 17th (and every Friday until Christmas) we are going to be giving $10,000 to some lucky seller.
Six weeks, $10,000 a week - every Friday.
I can't imagine any seller who couldn't put an extra $10,000 to good use, especially at that time of the year!!!!!!!!
We have not even announced it yet, but since you all posted such nice comments here I wanted you to be the first to know.
No gimicks, no fancy requirements. Simple:
1) You have to be a registered seller.
2) Our banners have to be in your listings.
Doesn't matter if the buyer uses us or not.
Doesn't matter where you're located.
Doesn't matter what your feedback is.
Doesn't matter which auction site you use.
Everybody's in... odd's of winning about 450,000 times better than winning the lottery.
We will have a special web site set up to show the winners.
Each week, the winner will get (by overnight delivery) 20 - $500 Western Union money orders!!!
The only requirement of the winning sellers in that they have to provide us with a photo of them holding the $10,000 in their hands and a big smile on their face.
Will we get any new business from it? Maybe, hopefully... but frankly that's not why we're doing it...
We had a good year and it was due in large part to our sellers... so we're just saying 'THANK YOU' rather loudly...
