Crystalline_Sliver:
Half.com offers fixed price sales.
The idea is that rather than list an item that a seller can get a local wholesaler in quantity (i.e. a non-collectible), put it up for a bid price lower than wholesale and risk having to sell at a loss, they can list these types of items for sale at half.com at a price that guarantees the seller a profit.
I would assume that ebaY's reason for recommending this service is to make it easie to browse for true 'one-off's' ... i.e. collectibles and also to promote fixed price sales on half.com.

Anybody like half com and why? Seems like everybody is selling their books for a quarter and then they are tied up with all kinds of rules and regulations.
What am I missing? I see people say they have hunderds of books over there so they must be happy there.

I know what Half.com is, but why does this line show up on and ended auction with no bids?! That's my real query!!
:\\\"Crystalline Sliver cannot be the target of spells or abilities.
For it's purpose, I like half.com. I think their commission is a little high (15%), but I have sold about 300 books there and it works fine for me - I never list the books for under $1 and most of mine are in the $2 range for paperbacks. These are mostly mass market and would usually not get many bids on ebay. So combining them with my ebay book sales, I do ok.
