Sheesh! eBay has just denied my request for credit for my auctions which ended the evening of 10/23, when there were so many problems with Seller Search and all! Many (if not most) of my bidders are repeat bidders who look me up specifically, and considering that I didn't have nearly the bids that I normally do, I feel that my request was completely justified.
Although I rarely request credit (maybe 4 or 5 times in the 2-1/2 years I've been selling), I did request credit for my auctions that ended one day last week as well, and this credit was given with no problems.
A copy of the e-mail is below, giving the support person's "reason" for not granting my request. I did write back, disagreeing with his/her answer, and once again asking for credit for these same auctions.
Just wondering ... has this happened to anyone else?

Hello,
Thank you for writing to us about your items. I do apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused you.
After reviewing our Announcements Board, I was unable to locate any
information on Title search being affected by any problems. I was only
able to locate issues on the seller search, My eBay Seller tab, and Bid
History functions. Unfortunately, at this time, I will be unable to
credit your account for these items, as the bidding was not affected,
nor was the regular search.
I do wish I could have been of more help for you.
Regards,
(name withheld)

I've only been denied credit one time when I requested it due to what I felt were impaired auctions. They did later change their mind and give credit on those items.
I explained that I expected at least the same level of service from eBay, a billion dollar company, as I (a small potatoes business) give my customers ... a full satisfaction guarantee. I told them to look at my auction listings if in doubt.

I requested credit for all auctions I had ending last week during their outages. They credited my listing AND selling fees already. I've never been denied credit. Just re-email them. Sometimes it just has to get to the right person.

I've already sent another e-mail (see original post), so I'm hoping this time they'll grant my request. Maybe they were hoping I'd just say "Oh, okay" and not write back. (???)

TAG has heard back from several sellers that persistance does the trick. The ebaY outage times are also posted on the TAG website if you need documentation. In addition, folks have received refunds for auctions even though they did NOT end during an outage, but sellers felt the auction was negatively impacted by all the outages. DO NOT GIVE UP - keep requesting your fees until you get them! -Rosalinda

keep trying, if you received any e amils concerning the outages from your customers attach those too, that helps. So far I received credit for all I ask for, I had to submit them twice, once to get them, but they did come through , or suppose to within 7-10 days

Well, I've got news for 'em: Item search isn't working flawlessly either! When I couldn't complete seller search, I did item search for some inkwells I have that are closing as we speak. Only 1 showed up, but there were 3 that were still open. I double-checked my search string -- it was OK. When I repeated the search later, I got accurate results.
Lack of seller search certainly does affect our bidders' ability to find our items. Grrrrr!

Same here. They credited me with last Sunday's fiasca (Oct. 15), but claimed this Sunday's fiasco (Oct. 22) was normal.
Of course, we have to rely on California's definition of "normal..."

It's ridiculous that we should even have to go and beg for credits. Why can't they just award them when things aren't working?

I have never had an easy time getting credits refunded from ebay. Every time I have had to email them numerous times. Finally, after the 7th email, they credited me. Probably just to shut me up. LOL!
