Okay, we're selling a Stenograph court reporting machine on eBay. We started the auction at a reasonable price compared to the recently ended auctions. All of a sudden, the bids are coming in fast and furious and the current bid is about double the average. So we decide to check out the other listings. We found out another seller stole our auction description, right down to the "scratches on the left side" part. The other seller only has 1 feedback. Should we advise him that this behavior is inappropriate? And what is with the overbidding? Advice anyone?

Send a message to SafeHarbor keep it short and simple.
It is against eBay rules. It is also illegal if you posted copyright notice.
I always post -- pics and text Copyright ©2000 on each auction.
Depends on how much abuse you want if you contact them.
If someone broke in your home and stole your TV while you were gone would you contact them to explain it is wrong? Or would you let the police handle it?

& More!!!(any of these things are supposed to get you kicked off ebay right?no he and his buddies are software super hi-tech developers..THEY ALL HAVE A BUNCH OF EMAILS & ID'S,BID ON EACH OTHERS AUCTIONS TO DRIVE UP THE PRICES,ALSO TO OUTBID OTHERS WHEN IT ENDS TOO LOW(ebay makes fees, they don't have to sell it too low like honest people) & THEY RACK UP HUNDREDS OF PHONEY GREAT FEEDBACK COMMENTS.from their phoney id's & their buddies..ALL HAVE LEFT TONS OF FEEDBACK FOR EACH OTHER...PLUS they not only steal our pics,& descriptions(lazy lowlifes)THEY DO IT FROM COMPANIES WEBSITES THEIR PICS & DESCRIPTIONS!(EBAY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THOSE COMPANIES myself NOT THEIR PROBLEM) i reported all of this by PHONE & MANY EMAILS,about 100 hours of work, comparing feedback, items on websites,etc..to EBAY HAHAHAH they sent him a sweet little letter"maybe you didn't know you aren't allowed to do this" they sent me a COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT FORM.that stated "IF YOU CAN'T PROVE THEY DID THIS YOU CAN BE SUED & KICKED OFF EBAY"****ME!
ebay makes a lot of money off these guys..they don't seem to care.(ever hear of ebaysucks.com ? many people have been through this & have banded together)..i have over 200+positives no negative comments..these guys are a ring..really bad,MAKE BIG MONEY,too lazy to take their own pics etc.don't waste your time like i did making printouts etc..my son is a computer brain...he said..let it go,,&,I NEVER LET THINGS GO,,BUT I HAD TO..why?
these creeps can make life HELL FOR YOU..
1.bid on all your auctions, never pay you (leave bad feedback)try to convince ebay..
2.get your phone # or address Harrass you
3.Play games with your computer
& LOTS MORE...3 weeks ago
my girlfriend had some guy email all her bidders cause he had the item cheaper..but he made a mistake he emailed HER too.she sent the email with headers to EBAY DID NOTHING.
YOU SEE these people even if they were kicked off could always come right back with new id's..with all the outages, etc,&,fraud i really wonder about ebay..
well thanks for listening...i wish someone had warned me before i worked so hard on this...the people at ebay
were pleasant, gee thought i had done a good job on getting the info, just uncommitted to doing ANYTHING ABOUT IT.HE IS STILL ON EBAY,HIS BUDDY & ALL THEIR PHONY ID'S BIDDING ON THEIR OWN AUCTIONS,,EASY TO SPOT..FEEDBACK..
well good luck,,think twice before doing much other than send info to safe harbor get it on record & call it a day..pam

They could have a bad accident couldn't they?
If they have angered that many people it woould be hard to guess if anyone helped it happen.

Wow Pam! I would be totally fed up. Of course, you sound like you are. I guess the thing that really makes me mad about it is that last week, my husband put a bid in on some tools. Simply put, he stumbled into a shill bidding ring and SafeHarbor did nothing. We spent about 3 hours chasing feedback and fake bids, sent all the info to eBay. We got the standard "not enough evidence" form letter. Now we have other seller stealing our descriptions. If you could see my husband struggling over his descriptions, you would know that it is grand theft. He's a pain in the butt about them. Anyway, thanks for sharing the story. Oh by the way, does anyone have any idea why the bidding might be going up so high? Could these problems be related? Twice market value is making us a little nervous!
