Can someone name this piece of pottery, it looks like Frankoma but is not marked, I was thinking candleholder but not sure. It is 3 ½ inches at the base and 1-½ inches at the top and is brown with a green tint. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks.

The opening is 1 ½ inches wide and 2 inches deep. It is not ceramic, it is red clay, looks like Frankoma and was in a Frankoma collection. ?.

I collect Frankoma and my first guess, without looking it up in the book, is that it is a top/stopper to a jug, like the Frankoma guernsey jug.

Nope, it's not for the guernsey pitcher. That lid has a finial on top like a cock's comb.
Looks like it may be the lid for the coffee carafe or the stopper for the square-shaped bottle vase that comes in the Aztec design. Although, the lid is plain without the Aztec design.
Many of the Frankoma stoppers have corks in the stoppers, but not all of them.
I lean toward it being a piece of Frankoma since it has the green and brown glaze like the plentiful Prairie Green glaze

Thanks brie49
It does not have a cork or marks where it has been rubbed against something else, this makes me think it is a candle stand, even though the bottom is some what rounded it still sets steady on a flat surface.
While I have your ear, if I still have it, I have a cream colored Fan Dancer that has a broken leg, it is a fairly clean break. The fan dancer was bought in the fifties. Do you think it would be a lost cause to try to sell as is, or should I try to have it repaired. Thanks for your info.
