I feel like such an idiot! I sent an item to the wrong person, has anyone ever done this? I tried calling the person, but the line is disconnected. I emailed her, and told her what I did, and offered to pay her to ship it back to me. Gosh I feel soooo stupid!
Has anyone ever done this?
Lucky enough to catch it and have the person email me just about the same day.. I apologized profusely and offered to pay shipping and even (shudder) paypal them the money upon receipt of the item. Both people were very cool about it, guess I was lucky

I've done it and offered shipping back + bounty and the guy KEPT it. What a jerk. The buyer it should have went to was a dream, and totally let me off the hook.
This was a vintage Christmas ornament. So much for the season of giving.

Sure. My experience turned out wonderfully.
The wrong recipient offered to ship it on to the rightful owner. He did and I sent him a check with a bit extra in it for his trouble.
It all depends on what kind of person you
ship to. Some are great!!!

As a seller I haven't done it yet. But as a buyer I have had it happen twice. One seller was REALLY nice and bent over bacwards to get me the correct item. The other almost made it sound like it was MY falult she sent me the wrong item. I sent it to the correct buyer for her, and it got damaged on the way. She emailed wanting to know how I packed it...I was in shock, afterall SHE sent ME the wrong thing, I didn't have anyting to do with it.
As a seller however, I have told someone I didnot receive their payment, even filed a NPB alert, only to find out I had received the check, and cashed it, Whoops!!! I would have rather have sent the wrong item!
Gave the biggest apology of my life, sent her the item, and her money back. It just happened, so I don't know yet if she will neg or not. Believe me sending the wrong item pales in comparison!

Have done it several times over the last 3 years--careless mistakes on my part. Fortunately, all of the recipients have been kind enough to send the items along to the correct buyer. I then sent them the item they should have received, and $$ for the postage they spent to resend the wrong item to its rightful owner. I feel very lucky (!). Hope everything turns out for you.

Welllll....
A couple weeks back, I sold a G-suit for Val (this is the contraption that keeps fighter jet pilots from passing out because all the blood's gone to their feet). Got payment on a day when I was feeling really sick, but wanted to get this to the bidder pronto, so I reached in the "out" basket, boxed it up, dragged my behind to the PO and shipped it off.
Four days later, a very kind email comes: "I seem to have the wrong item." Oh, I'd shipped him something green, heavy, and military with lots of zippers all right - unfortunately it was Val's old USMC field jacket (25 years old, mint condition, enormous sentimental value) which somehow had made it into not only my workroom, but my "ship out" basket. AUGH! Val was very sweet about it, but if you knew her and her sentimental stuff - oh jeez. I was mortified.
The bidder was kind enough to ship it back, I groveled appropriately, and shipped off the RIGHT item, plus enough cash to reimburse him for both shipping and his time and trouble.
