How does someone become NARU? I know that a person can just "unregister" themselves from ebay. But what about the no. of negs?
I noticed that several people that I had dealt with in the past are now NARU. (We had wonderful transactions however and positive feedback from both sides.) It seems that they had some negs posted about them and also the number of negs per person varied, but most it seemed had only 3 or 4. One of these people had over 800 positives, it just seems odd to me that 3 or 4 negs could get a person with so many pos. NARU'ed.
Is there some kind of a time frame in which the negs are recieved and then a person is NARU'ed? Or do they just add up over a period of time? Like for example over a 2 or 3 year period?
I looked for an answer to this at ebay, but I just couldn't find one. I know I was just not looking in the right place, so I came here to ask.
Can anyone explain it to me?

When an account reaches -4, it is automatically prohibited from bidding, listing auctions, or leaving feedback.
A similar situation is that an account can be NARU'd if it is showing a strong trend toward negative feedbacks recently, but hasn't yet reached -4. (Such as if somebody has 500 feedbacks, and the last 30 are all negs.)
With both the above, the account must be reported to eBay for it to be reviewed and NARU'd.
The other way has nothing to do with feedback:
If 3 different sellers have filed and received FVF requests against a particular account, that account will be NARU'd for 30 days. A 4th FVF will result in a permanent suspension.

So if a person is in the -minus it is pretty much automatic and if not than it happens when someone has FVF filed against them 4 times?
Okay I think I understand it now. Thanks!

No, NARU is not automatic when an account reaches -4 total: when an account reaches -4, they can't do anything, but the account is still registered. The account must be reported to eBay and the CSR must manually suspend it.
