Hi y'all. I need your advice. A week ago or so I won an item that was to be my husband's Christmas gift. The seller hasn't contacted me, and I've sent her 3 emails about it.
I know her emails work, because I sent her questions about shipping before the auction ended and she replied.
If I don't hear from her by Monday I'm going to request her phone # and give her a call.
eBay says that all a buyer can do over a deadbeat seller is leave the appropriate feedback. I wonder why there is no 'NPB' type setup for deadbeat sellers? The end of the auction is supposed to be binding.
How long should I give this person before I neg? Thanks in advance, and God bless (hee hee!).

I have wait up words of two and a half weeks sending EOAs and notices ready to give up on the buyer when a check showed up in the mail and I had no replys from the buyer to my email at all.
But as a seller I always send notice out to my buyer inside the frist 24 hours of the end of auction.
A week is a long time to not here from a buyer ebays own rule states seller and buyer must make contact in three days after the end of auction.
have you tried sending an email to this seller from ebays send this auction to a friend link this email will apear to them to have been sent from Ebay and may get thre attention. if it dont the neg you give them should get there attention.

Thanks dman3. I sent the seller 2 regular emails and 1 of the 'send this auction to a friend'.
I considered just PayPaling a payment, but I don't have a total to send because I want the item insured. Also, the item is too expensive to just throw my money to a seller who doesn't respond.
I've got a bad feeling about this whole thing...like maybe the seller got a better offer. Someone else was trying to outbid me on the item, too, and I outsniped him. Maybe he made the seller a better offer behind the scenes?

This could very well be I am a seller and I dont recomend just sending money to a seller who dont return or send a EOA even with paypal Just not worth it go with your gut feeling on this.
They could have went away on vacation but should have contacted you and the other bider(s) before they left so you would know they would be gone.

Did this seller have other auctions that ended about the same time as yours? You could try sending emails to some of the other buyers and see if they have heard from the seller.

A week is rather long, but I think I have had successfull transactions after that long.
I've had several deadbeat sellers. The first time after 3 weeks of no response I posted negative fb and promptly received an email from seller's husband saying seller was in hospital and had every intention of honoring bid... Never heard from them again.
Since then, after a few weeks I just forget about them.
I submitted question to ebay re. NPB report equivalent for such sellers, received response indicating they weren't interested (i.e. since the fvf was paid, why would they care).
Prior to PayPal could not just send such a seller a payment as there was no address to send it to; I have not tried sending PayPal in absence of seller acknowledgement, seems too much like throwing money in the wind...

At this point I'd just find another one if I were in your shoes. Like you said, it doesn't make much sense to send your hard-earned money to an unresponsive seller. You still have plenty of time before Christmas, so it should work out OK for you. It seems like you have gone above & beyond the call of duty in trying to contact this person, enough is enough.
God bless you too. LOL!!!!!!!!

God bless you all for your responses!!
dman, yeah, it's too much money to send to someone who won't even acknowledge!
meya, good idea! The seller had a bunch of auctions that ended that day--including the bidder who I beat and suspect he made a better offer. Hmmm, maybe I will email the suspicious one and see what the reaction is. The seller had 2 auctions I was interested in, both ending at exactly the same time. We 2 bidders outbid each other on each of the auctions, so I got one and he got the other. Hmmmmmm!
figmente, so much for a 'binding contract', eh?
CAgrrl, I wish I could find another one of these items, but it's one of those unique things you won't see again--most likely not in time for Christmas anyway.

Don't send any money. I was sick in September and didn't check my emails for a couple of weeks. I then found my teenaged son had (helpfully) filed them into another folder. Some people were mad but understood when I explained the situation.
Maybe the seller is sick or away on an emergency. Sit tight for awhile longer.

I emailed the other sellers that won auctions the same day as I did--taking meya's advice to email the other winners of this woman's auctions. I hope they don't think I'm bonkers! It's been even longer than I thought. The auction ended October 29th!
cassie, I will wait, I'm pretty patient...unless I see the item relisted!
