Has anyone downloaded and tried this new browser on eBay--beta or the standard release which came out yesterday?

i tried the beta that came out about 6 or so months ago and HATED it! i had to uninstall both netscapes (4.5 and 6) and getting rid of stuff in the registry and then to reinstall 4.5 again, just to get rid of everything. what a pain in the arse it was. i don't want to try the 6 because i hate doing that much work.

i detest MSIE and will stick with the last version of netscape prior to 6.

ok, i've calmed down. my meds are working!

I tried it too in beta a few months ago. I ended up deleting it and going back to 4.7. Since then, I have upgraded my PC and I am now using the dreaded MS product. It's working much better than any version of Netscape I have ever used so I will probably stick with it.

I noticed the latest version of IE has a little trick which will remember what you've typed into form fields anywhere on the web (for example, eBay's listing form) and when you go back to the same form in the future and begin typing the same thing it will automatically bring you a list of matches to what you've typed in there before and let you select one if you wish. I've found that very convenient. I wonder if Netscape 6 has that feature, too?

As a previously devoted user of Netscape, I had to switch to IE a few months ago when Netscape kept freezing my computer. I haven't been motivated enough to figure out how to delete it from my registry and reinstall.

I need this computer for my living. One of the things I learned was to keep a seperate computer for music and messing around. If it is working OK and I don't need to change it I LEAVE IT ALONE!! When it crashes from your experiment and you can't access your auctions and accounts you have big problems.

I'm using Netscape 4.75 and sticking with it until they have worked the bugs out of ver 6. I can't afford to play beta tester for them. God knows I've done it enough for AW!

i can help you get rid of netscape. i do software and hardware support for a living. registry stuff is very very very tricky and should only be done if you know what you're doing.

you can email me using the email in my profile and we'll see what we can do.

I have used several iterations of Netscape 6, based on the totally new Gecko engine by Mozilla.

I am currently using the "final" NS6.

The underlying engine that has been two years in the making, and long overdue is destined to be the standard, and will regain market share.

Those who have tried it in the past really should again, as it is way better.

When all the users of the terribly non-compliant Netscape 4.x get moved over to the Gecko engine then web designers can finally use the really neat things that have been broken in NS 4.x like the DOM, layers, CSS 1&2 etc.

Using the lame M$IE isn't the answer!
