OK, there's a first time for everything. I recently had a deadbeat bidder totally ignore all of my emails after EOA. I filed NPB alert with ebay. Still silence. Today I filed FVF with ebay and negged the deadbeat. Something like "...ALL EMAILS AND EBAY WARNING IGNORED; DEADBEAT BIDDER...." One problem. I didn't check the 'negative' button, and when I hit the 'enter' button, that feedback was posted as positive.
This deadbeat now has a whopping feedback of 2; one of which is obviously not very positive. I initially thought about emailing safeharbor and trying to get them to switch it for me but you know how helpful they are.... Then I thought I would just leave it alone. People only look at the overall number and any recent negs anyway. When they check out this guy's feedback, they will obviously figure that it was posted wrong. Maybe by doing this the deadbeat won't suddenly rise from grave and give me a retaliatory neg.
I still don't know what to think so I decided to see what you good folks over here on the goodship lollipop board have to say....

eyegun...you must have had the positive checked off or it would have given you a screen to tell you to choose one.
I don't think you can do anything after the fact. Maybe they'll give you a retalitory positive???

Been there, done that.
Boy was I ticked. I had gotten myself all in a lather about leaving the neg (my first) and then screwed it up by leaving a positive. Still kick myself over that one.
I kind of doubt that ebay would change it for you, but I guess it couldn't hurt to ask.
One good thing is that the NPB will 'hurt' the bidder worse than the negitive as I understand when the bidder hits the forth NPB ebay kicks them. With negitive feedback the buyer has to have a total of -4 (not just four negatives) before they can be kicked and even then someone has to bring that to the attention of ebay.

I don't think it was stupid. Not long ago, I accidentally left a negative when I meant to leave a positive! Now that's stupid!

Did the same thing!!! But the buyer did get a REAL negative after mine...THEN the following was added as a positive, "THIS IS MY DAUGHTER AND SHE IS THE BEST SELLER EVER". PLEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!! (did you follow that??)

Every cloud has a silver lining...Is that an American saying????
Anyway, the good thing is, the person only has 2 feedback, so people will read them and see the error, and get the warning. Had the person had 22,752 feedback, now...that could have been a problem...

Last Tuesday, I attempted to leave a feeback for one of my buyers, but somehow I ended up leaving one for Pat Buchanon instead....

ROFL! [biiggrin]
Brilliant solution! eyegun, just email ebay, tell them you are an elderly person from Palm Beach County, FL & DEMAND a revote on this person or you'll be on CNN in the morning.

Good idea. Even though as a rich Palm Beach Democrat, I have NO problem keeping accurate score on my golf scorecard or marking 15 bingo cards at a time, I DEMAND MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to amend my positive (should have been negative) feedback.
ps you wouldn't have Jesse Jackson's phone number would you??? I'm sure he would be more help to me than safeharbor.

eventer & eyegun, HAAAA!!!! Thanks for the laugh. If Jesse Jackson can't help, call Johnny Cochran. If the positive doesn't fit, acquit!
Don't feel too bad about leaving the pos when it should have been a neg. I've done that before, too. But to top it off, I went and did it a SECOND time for another deadbeat. Boy am I dense.
I guess my finger gets trained doing so many positives you get that positive trigger finger.
