Most of our auctions item numbers are still in the 498 Million range like everyone else's, but we are occasionally getting item numbers that are in the 1 billion range.
example...(1011111111)- instead of (498101XXX)

Does anybody know what is going on?
Are they only doing this for certain catagories?

Thank you in advance.

J.

Hiya J....I believe that the 10 digit numbers are catagory related...I have a couple of items listed in the "Weird Stuff" catagory & they were assigned 10 digits...

Inquisitive me asked ebay about that and they said they are trying them out to make sure they will go through system okay-kinda like a pilot selling thing...to make sure it's possible. NOTHING MAJOR!

That makes sense. I initially thought it was because "Weird Stuff" is placed on its own server according the Announcements. Different server, different auction ID?

But I guess I was mistaken.
