Announcement Board has statement from yesterday that the Buy It Now option has a bug (big surprise)that causes it not to work when the opening amount and the Buy It Now price are the same amount and an uneven dollar amount. (For example $9.95)
They suggested a work around and a way to test your auction. They also suggested it would be fixed today.
I use 1st Bid Wins on YAHOO and submitted a Buy It Now with 1st Bid Wins in the title for a $49.95 opening bid. Test showed it worked.
Went ahead and submitted another listing using the same approach with a $9.95 opening bid. Got a buyer. It didn't work.
Guess the problem is not fixed yet. Seems random, effecting different amounts. You can use different amounts for opening bid/Buy It Now but that negates 1st Bid Wins.
I went ahead and closed the auction. I sent the bidder a email saying it was my intent to sell at the opening bid but would do whatever he wanted considering the eBay bug.
Fortunately the bidder has over 400 feedback so they should be well aware of eBay screw-ups and I'm sure we can work out an agreeable conclusion.
Watch the AB and be careful until this is all working correctly.
