I found the cutest shaker at a rummage sale this morning, and I'm hoping someone can tell me if there is an "Official" name for it. It's an elephant, about 3" high, porcelain, German, and c.1930's. I thought it was just a really cute single shaker until I checked it over again in the car. Oddly, there was a cork under his trunk AND on the base...then I realized there were holes on his head AND on his bottom! The top and bottom are divided inside, so he is a salt and pepper shaker in one! Very cute! Is this at all uncommon, and is it worth listing...and if it is...WHAT do I call it? There are a million or so salt and peppers (okay, give or take a few) listed, how do I convey what this is, without giving the impression it's an orphan? Thanks for your help!!

This is not uncommon. Just list it like you would any other salt and pepper shaker set and describe how it works. One side salt the other pepper. I'd love to check it out I collect salt and peppers especially animals!

I usually am not a promoter of other services but I happen to sell salt & pepper shakers too.
I dont usually recomend other services but I have found that tais.com has a very large selection of the most interesting old and rare Salt & pepper shakers and Nodders I have seen any where you might want to check there see if you can find what you have and get info on this there.
might even find a ball park Idea of what higher bids this item could bring you.
