I would think no matter who made the bid this person is responcable for there ebay account and control of there password.

You could in all kind hearted ness let this buyer off the hook by just going and opting for buyer and seller agree to cancel transaction maybe no harm is done how ever the more sellers do this the more common it becomes for people to think they can bid for fun with no real intent to buy cause buyers just let you off the hook.

Guess you have to use your best judgement here. its my guess since one time they told you payment was on the way and then they made other excuses after a few weeks when you found no payment had came

File N P B and and final value credit, you must have a ID and Password to bid, have they had other successfully completed auctions? Neice would have to had ID and password to bid. They had to know the bid was placed unless the it was a new Id , and neice registered and bidded without their knowledge. Would you give a minor your ID and Password?? Nope, dont think so

NPB AND NEG !!!!! It is your duty, as well as mine, to let other seller's know about bidders like these.

I agree with the NPB and FVF. If this person uses gator to remember their logins and passwords (I do), then the neice would not have to have it. Gator automatically fills it in, all you do is hit the fill in button. However, if there is a way to get out of paying, someone will think of it. NEG.

Gator is password protected and the user would have to have the password to have it fill in the fields!

chizelmon, my gator never, never asks me for a password. It is all in how you have it set up. Mine just automatically fills in whenever it is needed.

No. Sounds like they just changed their mind. A variation on "the dog ate my homework"

I agree with all the above. File NPB and either offer to next highest bidder or relist.

Thank you all for the input I have gained valuable information lurking on your board I realy do feel this person is just trying to back out of the deal it is not a lot of money involved just the principle.
To be fair i will offer her the opportunity of honoring this transaction if not will file all the necessary forms
I feel this person should honor the bid and recoup from the neice
