I've been buying and selling on eBay for two years now and I just left my first negative feedback comment for a non-paying bidder. And you know what? It feels great! I've done my duty to warn other eBay sellers and I'll file for return of my fees this weekend. My neg brought his total feedback score to zero with four positives and four negatives.

Hurrah, RainyBear. Good for you. I just experienced my first deadbeat bidder and I did not have the priviledge of leaving a negative because they became an "unregistered user" aaaargh. I wanted to so bad.
And you guys all warned me about this one that had one neg ... and I thought I'd give them a chance another neg showed right after. But they emailed me back saying "Yes, I really want to buy your item. I am a serious bidder." Famous last words.

I do understand. I have been on 2 years like you and left my first last week. Guy bid $3780.00 and had false ontact info.
I am out of it for full time. I am like imabrit cutting back to part time.

Good for you! I have had several instances where bidders had positive feedback such as "quick pay"--but they took their sweet time paying me. Several bidders have taken as much as three weeks to get their money to me, although I specify ten days. These people don't answer their e-mails either when you inquire as to why the payment hasn't reached you. Only a threat of NPB even gets a response from them. I'm going to neg a few myself just to be sure other sellers know the story before they deal with someone.

A little more information for those interested:
Before the auction ended I saw that this bidder had four positives and three negatives, and the negs were all for non-payment. The first two had been responded to with "my computer was fried by lightning" excuses. I was going to cancel his bid, but I contacted the second-highest bidder before doing that to make sure he'd be OK with it, which he wasn't. I didn't have enough time to contact the third bidder and cancel both high bids, otherwise I would have.
So I figured I'd give the guy a chance. I didn't get a response after sending the EOA info so I wrote to him again in a week, hoping to just never hear from him at all so I could get the process over with. Well, he wrote back saying "My check must have been lost in the mail, I'll send a money order," so I gave him another week before filing the NPB alert. That was a week ago today.
He hasn't previously left feedback for any transactions, positive or negative, so I'm hoping I won't be his first.

Good for you rainybear. Seems like lots of people are afraid to leave negs because of retaliatory negs. You did the right thing, and did us a favor. Thanks.
