I was the winning bidder on a book back in October. Seller e-mailed within the hour with contact info. I e-mailed back and asked if I could pay with Visa since it was listed as an option.
I heard nothing from the seller in reply. After 2 days, I shrugged it off and mailed a check. Then LIMBO. No book. No feedback. No e-mails. No communication of any kind.
After 3 weeks of waiting, I e-mailed and asked was my payment received? I got a reply that they would have to check on it. Again LIMBO. I got my bank statement and see that the check cleared 3 weeks ago.
I e-mail again stating that the check has cleared, I want my book or my money ASAP. Either one I don't care anymore. I am tired of being dragged along.
The reply was, "I don't respond to threats". So, does that sound like the book is coming?
Should I wait longer? Can I put a stop on the check after this long, and just write this off as a bad experience? I really want this over with.
The seller is a pro with high feedback and a handful of negatives.

You can't stop payment on a check after it's been cleared. How much was the book? Could you look into filing for Ebay's insurance?

I would also leave the seller a NEG.

Good luck..

The book was a little under $20.00. It usually sells for closer to $40.00 on eBay. I wondered if the seller didn't want to let it go for that price.

Regardless; they should have contacted you and either sent you the book OR the money. I can't think of anything you can do except NEG them.

Oh, you might want to get their phone # from ebay and call them and find out what's going on. They owe you an explanation one way or the other. (And either a book or your money back!!)

You might consider filing a mail fraud complaint with the post office. Begin by telling the seller that's your intent, and if that still doesn't shake the book/money/explanation loose then ask at the PO how you'd go about doing it.

Ask the USPS for a mail fraud form, fill it out and send it in.

They might not respond well to your "threats", but the USPS Inspectors write a heckuva nastygram
