If a bidder has placed their item on watch? I don't recall seeing an answer before about this part of it.

I would be interested in seeing how MANY people (not who) have put a particular item of mine on watch .. perhaps under 'my ebay'. BUT, I'm certainly NOT going to ask for another new 'feature' that will only bog the system down.
I have a memory like a steel trap .. unfortunately it's rusted shut!

I was just curious, because I use the feature quite frequently and have been getting some extra emails...

On Yahoo, sellers can see how many people have added an auction to their "watchlist." Not who, but how many. It's interesting, but not particularly useful information.

I use Yahoo too and I know it has a watch feature, but email addy is hidden there. I do like the feature, do sellers think it would help to add it that feature in the future?

Of course, I would like to see site stability on Ebay before ANYTHING else, but I would like to know how many people have watchlisted something of mine. (Yahoo has me spoiled.) That way, if an auction I've started low has no bids & only one watcher I would be able to make an educated decision to cancel that auction before the one watcher places their 1 bid. (And I thus "give the item away".) If the item has a dozen watchers, then I know not to panic so much, cuz chances are the snipers will save the situation.
right now I cancel auctions prematurely sometimes & get emails from bewildered people wondering why. I then tell them "OK, well now it's listed on Yahoo & is item # blah blah blah" when they ask. Whereas I might have just chilled out a little and let the auction ride on Ebay if I had known there was some interest.

twelvepole: The thing is, that a lot of people now are more tech savey, and some are using e-mail catchers on there auction pages.
Hell, I went to look at an Adobe Acrobat the other day, and didn't bid or anything, but for the next two days and nights I got BLASTED with about 30 e-mails from crooks selling pirated versions for anywhere from 10.-100. bucks.
I did what I always do with such things. I forward them to the fraud dept. of the company that owns the copyrights.
I despise pirates, and bootleggers.
But back on subject, they are catching e-mail addy's big time.
