You know, with all these wonderful "new changes" to Ebay, They haven't updates the Annoucements board for 2 days. Hard to believe they have had no problems for 2 days.
Anyways, has anyone heard whether they'll be doing a Free Listing day again before Christmas. It getting to be too close for me to be able to close the auction and guarantee shipping by the big day.

As of now, ebaY has made no promises of a free listing day. If they are going to have one, they usually spring it with very little notice either right before or right after christmas (like the 23rd or 26th). we will put it in the newsletter if it happens.
On the other hand, SmoothSale is running an ebaY reimbursement special. From Tonights TAGnotes - SmoothSale is running an ebaY listing reimbursement special. Sign up as a SmoothSale Merchant,
then sign up for the button placement offer and SmoothSale will reimburse you for up to $1 per auction (up to $100 total) when you place the SmoothSale button on your ebaY auctions. This offer is good from 27 Nov through 4 Dec. SmoothSale is free through
January 2001. The SmoothSale button allows you to communicate in real time with customers, sell related items at the close of the sale, sell to all bidders not just the auction winner, work out all the details of your sale including shipping and payment method. http://www.smoothsale.com/

I visited the Smooth Sale sight - interesting concept and I may try it when I have time, but at the moment I don't have time to handle all that I do on line and the endless e-mail - and personally highly question whether the constant interruptions of live conversation would really increase our sales.
Of course I am progressive and open to new ideas, so will give it a whirl after the Christmas season, right now we have more than we can handle.
I personally, don't like face to face sales, don't like chat channels, I personally don't even like to talk on the phone - I like the solitude of responding to e-mail in MY time - so question whether this will work for me, but will try it - never can tell.
I did do some searches and found folks selling in many of our areas aren't using this system - because we deal in many antiques I have a feeling this might turn into an endless haggling conversation, which is the reason I don't like in person sales - but we will see.

Live chat can indeed help in trust of people this I learned from all my years spent on IRC.
How ever I have sold on yahoo just over a year they have yahoo messanger conected to all auction and in all the time I have had messanger set up useing memory in my computer waiting for questions not one buyer ever sent one word to me about my sales.
Now I cant speak to how this would work with Ebay many of the same people buy and sell both places yet ebay has a different additude of seller and buyer who are very questioning and love the message boards and stuff smooth sales I think might help here for many speed is far faster then email questions and answers this coulod bring bidding sooner to many listings.
