a MONTH? And what did you expect??? Most sellers have an emergency back up system, be it a friends PC, the local library or a cyber cafe.

If somebody's bid on something and never pays, you are indeed inconvenienced. Unless you actually ship before receiving payment, I don't think you can describe your inconvenience as being "ripped off", since you still have the merchandise in hand and can recover your FVF.
So let me get this straight. You collect bidders' $, your computer crashes. You have NO hard copy of your bidders' shipping info, No backup data whatsoever. Didn't keep their envelopes. You have NO friends whose computer you can borrow for an hour, there is NO public library or cybercafe within driving distance, and NO PC service from whom you can rent a computer.
And now it's EBAY's fault that you've been negged?
Sounds like the least of your problems is being without a PC. Your most critical lack is any sort of business system, contingency plan, and sense of responsibility to your customers.

Even if you don't have AOL you can get your email off any internet email account at the library by going to mailstart.com (I think that's it) and you can get all your email there. You can get your auctions off email and re=email everyone about your problem and ask them to send you their information again. Go back to the library for a few days and get things straightened out.

silverspoon, You may believe/know that you are honest but remember that you are dealing with strangers and how are they to know that if they don't hear back from you in a month?
