Help!
I've been using the program "re:sale" for managing my auctions(ebay-Yahoo-Amazon).As of the end of the year they will no longer be updating the program.

Is there ANY program that will manage the business end for Macintosh users ?
All I see are Windows program. No,I will not switch platforms.

I'm looking for a pretty automated program-where all I do is drop in the auction end notices and click "Send" to email the buyer.

Don't suggest "Word processors" or spread sheets.
I do ALOT of auctions and in the old days I did it the hard way and it took way too long.

For auction creation,I use "pre-lister"

Thanks!

I have been curious about the same thing, a good mac based auction management system.

By the way, what is "pre lister"?

Just a question - does bowwow work for Macs since it is all online?

If you find one, let me know - my nephew is looking also.

Or, could you use the track feature here on auctionwatch and just pick up everything after listing?

Depending on the Mac you use, you could run Windows programs in SoftWindows or Virtual PC. I think there is also software by Blackthorne that will run on the Mac.

I would never suggest depending on EOA notices, slow and unreliable as they are. Ideally, software should be able to grab closed auction information directly from the web site.

Also keep in mind that the upcoming OS X will probably change the playing field once again.

Soft Wiindows or Virtual PC are not an option.
I used Windows for 14 years and I hated EVERY single minute of the Microsoft OS.

I had used Soft Windows up until it died on 1/1/00 and found it to be garbage.
It would not run many of the Windows programs I had to access for tax and busines records, etc.

Soft Windows and Virtual PC require(last time I looked) Mac OS 9 to use.
I have 5 Power Computing Machines here that
are running OS 8.5.1 flawlessly so I really do not want to upgrade and screw something up.

I have a 24/7 company that does hundreds to thousands of transactions a week and shutting down to reformat, upgrade and trouble shoot 5 systems is a real hassle.
Often times a major OS upgrade requires ALL of your divers and much expensive software to get it working right.

So,I really am just looking for a dedicated
MAC solution-even if I have to do one myself in Filemaker Pro.

I have never had that many problems with ebays "End of Auction" notices. With the "Re:sale" program I use,I could always automatically add the listing email and manually add the buyers
email, screen name and final value fee.

I've closed thousands of auctions on all the sites thru the years but really got spolied with "Re:sale"

I don't know of any client-side auction management software that is directly MAC compatible.

You might want to take a look at the web-based auction management systems- most work fine with MACs. OAUA (Online Auction Users Association) just completed a hands-on evaluation of seven of these web-based systems, and the results should be published in a week on the OAUA site. These include AuctionWatch's Auction Manager, Andale, GoTo's Auction Manager, AuctionFlow, AuctionLogic, ManageAuctions, and AuctionWorks.

Hi!

I am a Mac user (diehard) and run about 50-100 auctions a week. I use A.I.D. (Auction Information Database) by Epigroove. They seem to update quite frequently. It downloads all of the auction data, including email addresses and generates emails in seconds. You get an awesome database that lets you see what stage each transaction at with a glance. It even remembers postal addresses and automatically plugs them in when you have a repeat buyer. It is an awesome program - I couldn't survive without it. You can download it for a free trial but within a week I gladly paid the 29.99 they ask for the program. I have been using it for over 6 months and think it's the best 30.00 I ever spent. It will integrate with Eudora or send the email itself.
