Not to rain on your parade too much, but I probably bid on about 1% or less of the items I look at. Titles rarely are descriptive enough to tell what an item looks like.

Chococake - I used to "go ahead and bid" as you say, but now I wait until the last day, (but not the last few minutes or seconds), due to the growth of last-second bidders. (I hate the term snipers).
The reason is that if I bid early, the price goes up. If I wait till the last day, I either win or I don't, but I have a better chance. Also, I now hate having a bid sitting out there for a week, can't explain it, I just do.

Like jada, I also wait until the last day to bid (but rarely snipe). The way I figure it, if I'm browsing and see an item listed that has one or two bids on it, I am much more likely to look at it myself, so why should I call attention to something I'm interested in by bidding early? As a seller I hate people like me!
