Have I missed something recently? I just listed items on ebay. The first ten or so came back with 9 digit numbers, 51xxxxxxx and so on. Then two came back with 10 digit numbers, 11xxxxxxxx. Then numbers reverted to 9 digits again, 51xxxxxxx. Has anyone else experienced "random" item numbers or is this something new with ebay? I was wondering what would happen to my data base and reports when numbers went to 10 digits. Guess I will find out a lot sooner than I thought.

The ten digit numbers are assigned to specific catagories, so far I've encountered them in "Weird Stuff" & "Sports" something, I think...If I understand from posters here, these were put into service by eBay as a test for when they actually do exceed the 9 digits they commonly use now....Of course, if things keep goin' the way they are (eg. downtime, slow sales, etc) they may NEVER hit 10 digits!...LOL!
