All right, fess up!...Which one of you sellers is hoarding the bidders???...Someone MUST be keeping them all to themselves, cause they are avoiding my auctions in droves!...Now, I don't wanna be greedy, but could ya pls let a couple of 'em go!...I could really really use a couple of bids (nothing much, nothing big $$) JUST ONE OR TWO BIDS WOULD BE VERY NICE & would definately brighten my otherwise dreary existance!....Tis the season, ya know!....Thank you!

Two weeks ago I was jubilant because I was getting bids like crazy on just about everything I had listed. The bidding was the best I had seen in recent memory.
It certainly does change. Up and down.

It certainly does change. Up and down. You can say that again!...The last couple of weeks have been pretty ok with me, even got a good old "doin' the happy dance" unexpected sale....But THIS week?...HA, I'll be lucky if I can GIVE the stuff away!....&...slow, or to be more exact - nonexistant sales, make it sooooo hard for me to get motivated to pic/desc/list....But I'll just trudge along, cause I'm an eBay seller & bygosh that's what I do!...

Edited to add a better "eBay seller" smilie!

At least I'm not the only one, huh? ; - ) Lately I've gotten the bids at the last moment or not at all. This one guy has bought several of my books in the past week or so. If it weren't for him, I'd be in real trouble!

I am appalled at the lack of bidding. I would say it is only about half of what it was a year ago.
I think the buy it now feature helps, but the verification cuts out some legit bidders. You don't say buy now and then say wait a minute. Qualify bidders on day one, not in midstream.

I wondered how long it would take for Amy to weigh in. This is just the absolute worse I've ever seen. I'm not sure what the reason is for the lack of bids, but every seller I talk to here locally are all saying the same thing: no or low bids. I have been trying to buy, but with all the defective items I received this week, I'm not doing THAT anymore. And yes, I really do think that poor customer service, along with misdescribed items have gone a long way to drive the bidders away. They're all at the malls where they can see, touch, and return the merchandise.

Well, might as well take a number for my turn on the "pityPot"...
Lousy this week...And NPD are out in droves, based on what I am reading, and on my own experiences this past week...
I guess I forgot how early they started Xmas Shopping in 98 and 99...
Definitely too early for all of us...

eBay is lots like our RL store. Some days we cash out the till and do the happy dance and then the next day it is like no one likes our stuff anymore. It has been like that for 16 yrs. I think the gods look down on us and they want to keep us humble and working hard or something.
But we still like what we are doing, it just seems to be more work some days.

Well, it certainly helps to know that I'm not alone in Bidlessville!...I was startin' to think I had the "no bid dome" hangin' over my auctions!....A big cup of eggnog, some Christmas peeps & a homemade cookie for all of those out there sufferin'!...

By gosh shaani, I think you've got it!.... I think the gods look down on us and they want to keep us humble and working hard or something. ...I KNEW there had to be a good reason for this!....I can do humble, yup, I sure can (heck I'm even been spotted goveling!).....&...given the choice of another "job", I'm pretty darn sure that I would pick sellin', so I suppose I am happy!....

Shosh Shows are what kept me alive this year! And even show sales toward the latter part of the year are down compared to last year. Well, I'm done with shows for this year. Next one is the end of January. Maybe there'll be a turnaround by then.

You think you guys have it bad, I had three items close yesterday that cost me $33 each. They closed at $16 each. I am going to sealing those packages with my tears. I don't suppose I could get lucky enough for those to be deadbeat bidders? Right now I wouldn't complain.

Oh, sooo sorry Freddy57, but I do beleive that the laws of auction-probablity dictate that the possibility of a deadbeat on an item for which the seller is taking a loss is minute, infinitesimal even....But if it helps, you have MY sympathy!....&...my thanks for reminding me that "it could be worse"....

Thanks Rancher, I have never had a deadbeat on something I took a loss on, only the ones that got the best bids... I think you are right about the odds on that one. I guess the laws of averages caught me on this one, but my next auction is already doing better. I used a set price and 100 units, that should cover my losses and put a smile back on my face.
By the way, one of them already paid by Paypal this morning...guess I can't get that lucky...

KatyD..I was getting into the spirit of the Christmas season and offering to share the largess
Shosh..if the auction ended 11/22 you still have plenty of time to file a NPB report. The seven days is the earliest you can file. I think you have up to 45 days from the end of the auction to file the NPB. After you file the NPB you have to wait 10 days before you can file for the FVF refund. The request for FVF can be done up to 60 days after the auction ends.

Freddy57....glad to hear things are lookin' up for ya!...I've sold a couple of items below cost & I suspect that we aren't the ONLY two sellers to have done that!....Good Luck to ya!
Amy....What can I say?....THANX soooo much for sending over the bidder!....After two days of watching absolutely NOTHING happening with my auctions I finally got a nice bid on a relisted item!...It was sooo kind of you to share in the Spirit of the Season!

The week since Thanksgiving has been awful. I had a strong early part of November so I am surprised to see so many of my things sitting with no bids. Glad to know I'm not the only one, but let's hope it picks up.

Shosh I'm in So. CA. Mostly shows down here, although have thought about doing Hillsborough, which I think is up your way. Have heard it hasn't been that great for awhile. I didn't do the Calendar show here this month, but I heard sales were waay down for everybody. Next one is January. Hopefully it will be better.
