Auctioned an item and buyer (1 feedback total) emailed a few days after auction that she would send her payment over a week later because she was leaving for Disney World Vacation. Then she emails about a week after that saying she is sending out money order, then a week later she says did it come you should have it any day, then she writes back that it came back to her in the mail. Needless to say...it's over a month since the auction ended and no payment. She says now she is going to pay by credit card. Why couldn't she do that first before Disney World???? Anyway I wrote her back saying it would be fine to forget auction is money is a problem and that my payments are expected within 10 days of the end of auction and since she couldn't pay before it would be fine and I would not persue credit or negative feedback for non payment lets just forget the auction. Well if she decides to neg me which she probably will you all know it. If I do a NPBA am stuck with excepting her payment then since it says within 10 days??? How do I get credit for this auction I guess I don't really need it but....if I don't want to give her any more excuses or want to except her payment?
Any suggestions. By the way look on the announcement board this week Ebay is excepting feedback revisions to policy this week only. This is something that should be revised! I want to get credit for this deadbeat I do not want to send the item out!

I'm only now dealing with my first late payer on eBay, but my practice for those who fail to make payment within 14 days, will be to send a reminder myself allowing three days to reply with full name and address and full payment within seven days. After that I file an non-paying bidder (NPB) notice with eBay, and then a credit for the final value fee (FVF) ten days later. And then the all-important *negative* to alert other eBay sellers.

On Yahoo!Auctions, I will send the same reminder allowing three days to reply with full name and address and full payment within seven days. After ten days I will leave the *negative" to alert other Yahoo!Auctions sellers.

I saw someone's auction terms that concluded "when the auction's over, it's time to pay."

Ain't that the truth.

I think you need to design and implement a timetable and adhere to it.

There's are always special situations and I don't have a problem of working with a buyer that actually has a problem.

But after a number of e-mails, each with a different excuse, enough is enough.

File a NPB notice with eBAY, the FVF credit request, and then leave the *negative*.
