I need to VENT !!!!!
This ebay site is getting too big for their own britches !!!!!!!
Not only have their down times exceeded, they are having problems left and right !
I have found glitches all over ebay !!!
Relisting has clitches, My ebay has glitches, Searches have glitches, and even leaving feedback for users is starting to get so hard due to the glitches it isnt even worth the time.
I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL ANOTHER AUCTION SITE WITH SOME MONEY TO INVEST IN PROMOTIONS COMES ALONG AND STEALS ALL OF EBAY USERS !!!!
I HOPE AND PRAY THIS DAY WILL COME SOON !!
I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD IT WITH THE PROBLEMS ON EBAY SITE AND RATHER THAN FOCUS ON FIXING THE OLD PROBLEMS, THEY ARE IMPLEMENTING NEW CHANGES AND CAUSING MORE PROBLEMS.
I do not want to even get started on the poor customer relations ebay has. Ebay's customer support is truly the saddest I have ever seen any company have !!!
THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THEIR USERS AND THEY FEEL THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO WHAT EVER , WHEN EVER THEY WANT AND THERE IS NOT A DAMN THING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.
I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE AT EBAY READS THIS THREAD AND REALIZES THAT WE WILL NOT SIT AROUND AND TAKE THIS MUCH LONGER !!!!
A NEW SITE WILL COME ALONG ANY DAY NOW WITH HEAVY TELEVISION ADVERTISEMENTS AND PROMOTIONS. I AM SURE IT WILL BE A MIRROR IMAGE OF EBAY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS EVERYONE IS GOING TO SWITCH OVER AND EBAY IS GOING TO FALL. I REALLY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE EBAY SQUIRM TRYING TO GET ALL OF THEIR USERS BACK !!!
I WILL BE THE FIRST TO SWITCH AND TURN ON EBAY AS I SPIT IN THEIR FACES AND SAY, "THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WITHOUT RESPECT AND ANSWER ALL THEIR QUESTIONS WITH FORM LETTERS !!! BYE BYE JERKS !!!"

With eBay's attitude - as Rhett said - "Frankly My Dear I don't Give a Damn!" or as eBay would say "Frankly we don't give a damn."
No point in complaining it does no good - the only thing which would shake eBay too its corrupt roots is a REAL exodus of at least 50% or more of their sellers and there is no way can you get such of an uprising, particularly at this time of year - in fact you can never organize that many sellers - GREED prevents sellers from standing up for themselves - SO what all this comes down to is -
eBay is totally, uncaring, motivated by GREED AND the majority of sellers refusing to do anything - for the same reason!
So, if you are unhappy with eBay the choice is to go somewhere else -
I did about a year ago, and have more sales for FREE on eBay that I was ever running on eBay - I use eBay once in a while - but my sales are not dependent on eBay....

Well, you do have choices. You can try Deadbeat City, er...Yahoo. Or Amazon, or any of those other mausoleums, er...auction sites.

Question:
What did you do before Ebay?? Even though it may be very frustrating I don't think there is any better job around. I get to mosey around auctions (live) and buy what I want and to this date I have never lost money on resale. (Total from auctions on ebay is usually 4 to 5 times what I spent to get the stuff at the live auction.) I have a regular job as a Firefighter. It pay the bills at home. Ebay is my fun money. It pay for my internet connection and in fact I have decided to upgrade to DSL if my phone will work. It has paid for my laptop, digital camera etc and even bought a few birthday and holiday gifts. So hang in there and have fun. If you want a real independent online business start one yourself.

Nonsense. You HAVE a choice, and you've made it. Consciously or not, you've decided that, despite the problems you've enumerated, ebay gives you more bang for your selling buck than any other site.
If it doesn't, and you're nevertheless still selling on ebay, you have serious problems: either with getting off your duff to move elsewhere, or with knowingly shooting yourself in the foot with your inertia, or with wanting to complain and blame somebody (or someTHING) else rather than take control of the situation yourself.

There's always a choice. I was fed up too and switched to Amazon. They get a lot of bad flack but are still better than ebay. You just have to adjust to their system.
I now buy on ebay and sell on Amazon and yahoo.
One day either Amazon or Yahoo will get it's act together and pose proper competition for Ebay or another company will pull it together.
It doesn't need millions in TV ads either to make it work. If Amazon charge a few more fees (maybe half of what Ebay does) and cut back it's categories and tried to be consistent instead of "Improving" all of the time I think a lot more people would jump ship.
When I left Ebay I had a feedback rating of around 350. That was a bit more than a year ago. I have +1500 ratings now on Amazon.

And when that happens we will see you here bitchin about that site.
No choice? BULL PUCKY! You have all the choices in the world. You just would rather moan and groan about how bad ebay is. Its easier and more fun to complain about ebay, isn't it. But the money is to easy here so why should you make an effort to find another venue that would make you happier.
Kind of reminds me of biting the hand that feeds you.

i find it so strange how there is always someone who sells on yahoo and has quit ebay in the ebay message board. every thread that is negative towards ebay has yahoo comments from sellers who no longer use ebay. i find this odd. i dont use yahoo so i never go in that message center and make comments about a service i do not use. it is suspicious. it feels like free press for a compeditor or propaganda. it dosnt bother me it just seems bogus.
you must admit its odd. (i dont use ebay anymore i just hang out in that message board) go figure?
and if something better comes along i will jump in line, but i have not seen it yet. ebay is still on everyones lips. even if you turn on a sitcom there will be a comment about ebay.

That's ridiculous.
First of all, most of the Yahoo supporters who post here still sell on Ebay as well.
They just don't have blind allegiance to Ebay (or Yahoo for the most part.) This isn't the Ebay cheerleaders board. Even if someone doesn't sell (or buy) on Ebay, they certainly have every right to post here.
Moreover, I personally occasionally post positive comments about Yahoo to threads like this because several months ago, after reading many such comments, I finally decided to give Yahoo a try. I've made thousands of dollars thanks to that decision.
People here were kind enough to point me in the right direction, and I just hope to pass on the favor.
What I find strange is that all of the people who are certain that it is not possible to profit from Yahoo generally have never given it a serious try.

cix Being that you asked. There is a new site. LowestBids.com. It is very well funded and is getting 200,000 unique visitors a day and growing. Look at the ratings when they come out in a few days. Being just like ebay will never get it done. Anyone who doubts this, just wait and see. But not too long. Ebays arrogance and policy of ignoring their customers and providing lousy customer service will catch up with them. If you are going to take on ebay, then you must be prepared to go all the way.

Well, I can do lowestbids.com's stats for you right now.
Total items listed: 157
Total items with bids: 31, of which 5 were for Playstations (all of which had the same 3 bidders, and 2 of which had the same high bidder).
Interesting listing system. Listings in Antiques/Post-1900 consisted of a Sony Playstation, several Barbies, a VCR and a "2-line Easa-Phone", despite specific categories being available for each of these items. Antiques/Furniture had a Morgan Silver Dollar. An "Ultima Online video game" (that's the whole description - 14 bids) appeared in Magazines/Catalogue, and a set of night vision goggles was the only listing in Toys:Educational.
One of the few non-computer items with bids was an unidentified Kincaide print with NO photograph of the image. Description: "The authentification was hand signed by Thomas Kincaide."
I don't see any way to email the seller to ask a question, which is odd considering that a huge percentage of items lack a pic or any coherent description.
Yeah, I suppose if you want the corner on a market, this is the place to go. No competition here...

I like eBay. I think it's like our legal system. It may not be perfect, but it's still the best. You just got to have a sense of humor. It makes me angry sometimes, but so do a lot of web sites. I haven't found one that is totally without some problem or another.

I'm with December3 on this one folks. Whenever I am looking for something I usually find at least one on ebay. Never find it on Yahoo or any other site for that matter. This also hep me research items I'm selling. The higher price I get on ebay more than pays the fees. The stuff on yahoo is usually so cheap that there is little room for a $0.25 fee. I don't know how people pay postage! When you have feedback of 1500 you are usually selling a lot of little items with even smaller profits. Ebay rules. Sure they upset me but they are the best and I sure hope they can hold their ground as we enter these uncertain economic times next year.
