I have a bad check. I'd like to call the check writer's bank to verify funds, but the branch is not indicated on the check. Will I be able to verify funds by calling any of this bank's branches?

You can call any branch, and they can tell you by the numbers at the bottom of the check, which bank branch it is drawn on. But just because the money is there today, does NOT mean that it will be there when the check gets there.
