i am trying to find some information on a doublebreasted horsehair coat with beaver collar, full lenght, made by Three River Robe Tannery, Three Rivers Michigan. Does anyone know anything about company or about this type of coat, particularly date?

I am originally from Michigan and at one time Three Rivers was a fur mecca. I beleive this tannery is no longer in existance, however you may want to try searching it. Try www.savvysearch.com
I am not an expert on horse hides but I do remember my mothers "pony fur" jacket! That was in the early 60's.

Was it possibly one of those "send us your hide, we tan it and sew it" places?
I can remeber having coats and gloves made from deer hides that my father sent in..this was in the mid 60's...sorry I cant' be more help, and good luck with the search.
