I KNOW what I SHOULD do in this situation, but I am sooooo tempted to be bad!....I had an auction end, sent out EOA, 2nd message EOA, EOA thru eBay "mail this auction to a friend" option...No response to any of them from the buyer...No Payment...Then I get a positive feedback from them stating how they like the item & a comment on lots of emails....They never paid, I never shipped, they never received the item.....
Now the "right thing" to do is to persue them & explain that there is possible confusion on their part....BUT, I just don't feel like it!...This is a very small ticket item, that I have already wasted too much time on & quite honestly I'd rather just throw the item in a charity bin & end it....especially since it appears that they DID receive my emails, just didn't bother to answer them & most likely didn't want to complete the sale anyway....
Whadda you all think?....Will I go straight to hell for doin' the "bad thing" OR will I be granted a special "frustrated, tired eBay seller" dispensation??

Most ebay buyers and sellers on this board will be the frist to cry the buyer is always right what ever it takes to make the buyer happy even if it cost you everything but your life.
This buyer has given you feed back received your Item and is in love with it who are you to quetion this the buyer who is always right?!?!

Check the buyer's closed auctions to see if they bid and won another item like the one you were selling (at a lower price). That may be the reason you never heard from them. Perhaps they confused the two auctions when leaving feedback.

Up to you.....follow your instincts on that "right thing"....IMHO Janet

I have a different perspective: every time I try to help someone by telling them they've erred, I end up with egg on my face. They either (1) already know and don't care, (2) don't believe what I'm saying, (3) did what they did on purpose and politely (and sometimes not so politely) tell me to butt out, or (4) are mentally confused or ill. Just let it go. Some day you'll thank yourself.

Although I LOVE dman3's philosophy, (and bend over backwards sooo often for my customers, that I have a permenent creak in my back - LOL) I hear the rest of ya! (guess I needed a kick in the right direction!)....I checked, the buyer DID get a similiar item, however, they left feedback for that seller as well (different from the one left for me)....Oh well, so much for my attempt at bein' bad...just can't do it....Will be sending more emails to the buyer & explain the situation....
retired...I know what you're talkin' about...I suffer the same....BUT, I think I'm too old to learn new tricks...I'll continue to be kicked around, but in the end I'll know I did the right thing....
Thanx for boostin' my conscious in the right direction!

Same thing happened to DH .. basically what you've got is a NPB who left you positive feedback! Interesting technique .. they've got the seller feeling guilty for accepting nothing more than a positive feedback!

I agree with Tuition44Years. It's still a deadbeat, and for a cheap item, not worth your time. Send the bidder a final email stating, "If I do not hear from you within 72 hours, I will consider the transaction void." At least you're free and clear after that.
