I have no idea what kind of lamp this is because it has no names or marks on it other than the E with an arrow through it on the bulb socket. The lamp seems to me to be brass. It stands 13 inches tall and weighs about 2.5 pounds. The top with the jewels comes off to have access to the bulb. If you have any idea what kind of lamp this is please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will try to leave a link to the pictures but it never works. If someone could make the link clickable if mine fails, that would be appreciated also. Thanks.
Hey, didn't you post this on another site's whatzit thread? If not, there's more than one of these lying around
Utterly wacky and I love it. Looks vaguely like something you'd see in e.g. a Masonic Temple, but there's no appropriate motifs on it. Does it look to have plugged in with that cord originally, or was it rewired? I was wondering whether this could have been a newel post light fixture, which I think would most likely have been hard-wired (like a ceiling fixture, but with a switch in the body of the piece rather than on the wall). Sure is tons of fun, in kind of a come-to-the-Casbah kind of way!

Hey HartCottageQuilts. Thanks for making the link for me. I did put this lamp here on the ebay thread months ago so maybe thats where you have seen it. The plug looks old so it could be original plus the twist switch on it is made into the lamp.

My son is an electrician and he says the plug is about 40 years old. I do like it though. Now that is unique!!! IMHO

When I put this lamp on here before a woman sent me an email telling me she wanted to know when I was going to put it up for auction and that her mother would love to have it. I lost her email address and name but I wanted her to know that I still would like to find out a little more about the lamp and its value before I auction it off.

May I contribute? Many years ago, at least 41-45, my husband's very wealthy aunt and uncle toured the Near East. She sent us back a chandelier and a hanging lamp with the same sort of "jewels" imbedded in intricately scrolled brass. She bought them in Turkey. I hope this helps?

Hello Southern Boy -
I've sold a couple of lamps like this before. Even had one once that was a bathroom fixture -- four lights in a row that hung on the wall, all behind those colored "jewels" -- fantastic! I've seen more lamps like this in circulation in England than here in the U.S.
Lamp was probably made in India, likely made for export. They've been making lamps like this for years so it could date anywhere from the 1920s to the 60s probably. The cord would date it better. And, yes, it is brass.
Sorry, it's not worth a fortune. The last one like this I sold (now, that was about 10 years ago), was sold in NYC at a show for $100. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info LennonHall. Well I wish it was worth a fortune but knowing my luck I didn't get my hopes up.
