A vent:
I found the perfect gift for my father-in-law on eBay. I bid and won; the auction ended 11/26. Seller sent EOA and I sent my credit card number (through the incredibly crummy system on their web site).
Waited until the middle of next week and sent them email asking when my widget was shipped. No response. A couple of days later I checked my credit card statement online and saw that I'd never been charged for the widget. Sent email again asking why I hadn't been charged. Received response asking if I had an order number.
Wrote back and said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "I don't have an order number... I'll go ahead and pay using PayPal. Can you please ship my widget a.s.a.p. since I need to mail it in time for Christmas?" Paid via PayPal. No response from seller about when it will ship.
Now it has been more than two weeks since the auction ended and I need to mail it to my father-in-law this week in order to make sure it gets there on time, considering the mails this time of year and the snowy conditions in the midwest where he lives.
I've slipped through this seller's cracks and they don't care! I wouldn't be so upset if the item was for me, but I'm looking at not having a Christmas gift for my father-in-law. What a huge bummer that would be.
