Hi ya'll! 'Granny' here. (i 'spect mizscarlett wouldn't ask cause she thanks ya'll' ud thank she wuz ignernt! i seen her lookin' in the 'whatz it mean' big book, but she still couldn't answer me.) i seen too where some of you got a rite smart of snow, so I know somebody has time to rite me an answer! Here 'tiz: Aside from what the book sez, on this here ebay thang mizscarlett does, what is the meanin', exactley, of a widget? (i thank i spelt that rite.) SHE relly don't no, but she needs ta! i thank ya'll sho nuff for heppin' us out! i wish you could see this big ole toofie-less grin i am givin ya! by now, 'Granny'!

Hi, mizscarlett here...and NO disrespect taken! I TOLD Granny to go to BED, but I guess she couldn't get the bottom drawer open...and I turned my back! She knows I need to know the answer to the question and was only trying to help! She is so irritating, but so toothlessly wonderful in her own way! )

Well if you relly need to know......
The word "widget" is used on this board as a euphemism for an eBay item the poster is selling, buying, or discussing. It is necessary to use the word widget instead of an easily searched item description in order to avoid the wrath of the moderators. If the actual auction can be identified they will lock the thread and demand that the seller or buyer be contacted.
Gizmo, thingie, unmentionable, item X, etc. all mean the same thing.
I don't think the dialect thing went over very well.

There is no way I can possibly thank each of you enough for your replies to 'Granny's' question! (especially you, noshill!!) Funny, how 'ignerance' can bring forth so many needed smiles!(ok, a few belly laughs) The answer WAS important; but not nearly as satisfying as you all were! I wish I could bake every one a pie! (That was silly of me, I don't BAKE!) But, ya'll know what I mean!
