I have fought this all stinking day. It finally loaded my inbox tonight, which of course was full. I had THREE inquiries in there about auctions that ended tonight and I lost potential bidders over it.

I know there is nothing I can do about it but rant but it's very frustrating.

Now I try to go back into the mails to email the people and explain what happened...and I can't get it to load again

I only use my Hotmail for "friends", and have not been able to access either...I am glad that I am not using it for my auctions!!! Sorry for all your problems!!!

Hey Libby - If you find Hotmail THAT bad why not change email addresses???It's not hard and all you need to do is change your records at eBay and keep the old account open until all auctions are completed....any stragglers can be given your new address. GOODLUCK.

No I only hate it yesterday and today when I have not been able to access it (and no one else has either). I never have any problems with it otherwise so there is no need to change, it is just frustrating to not be able to access something that is supposed to be accessible (sp) anywhere

And it's finally working halleluiah!!!!!!!

I gave up. I can't get in again today. This is crazy.

I opened another email account under yahoo for eBay purposes.

Nothing like reliability eBay and Hotmail aren't run by the same people are they?

Uh, not to rain on your parade, but I have used Yahoo and Hotmail both for the last couple of years and Yahoo is MUCH worse than hotmail. Yahoo goes out about twice a month---you can get in, but the mail delivery is really spotty---sometimes I get three days worth of mail all on day 3.

Hotmail has an outage every few months but when it is on, the delivery has been pretty good.

My recommendation is that you get two e-accounts and have both addys in your auctions so that you will have a backup in case of an outage. Basically any e-mail is going to have outages, problems etc. I used to use a forwarding service that went to an At Home account but had to switch my primary eBay email to Hotmail after I got a neutral from an AOL seller who was screened out by my forwarder and couldn't reach me.

I've actually used yahoo for my website email for about 2 years now and have not had a problem with it, so I'm familiar with how yahoo works. An outage is one thing but this has been several days that I've been unable to easily access my mail and I have perhaps lost potential bidders/buyers because of it.

I know that since it's free I should shut up and quit complaining but it just gets on my nerves to see "Stalled" and "Timed out" on my screen day after day

The stalls are a problem. The thing that I hate most about hotmail is it is a feeding ground for every sex pervert, diploma seller, and get-rich-quick SPAMMER that has ever turned on a PC. I use my hotmail account for one thing only, and that isn't day-to-day email communication.

The Bulk Mail screening feature in Hotmail seems to help a lot, but you're right, spam is much worse there than with other services.

That's interesting that you've not had a problem with Yahoo. I have had repeated problems with it and so have all the other Yahoo users I know. The mail shows up eventually but it's frequently late. I wonder if this is just due to the part of the country where I (and the other users I know) live, because it's been a recurring annoyance over the past year and is why I opened Hotmail accounts in the first place.
