I just tried to log into my Paypal account & was rebuffed with "wrong password". Went to "forgotten password" and received the hidden question. I answered "your mother's maiden name?" with my mother's maiden name and was told I had the wrong answer. Comes as a shock to me. All these years I thought I knew her name. Apparently Paypal somehow discovered her real name. Paypal will now mail me in 1-2 weeks a method to reset my password. I will then terminate my account as I now choose to not do business with these screwups.

Say, you're not one of the one's who gave Auxpal your password and then didn't change it, are you? Maybe you got hacked! I wouldn't wait, I'd call them right away!

Good Luck hearing from Paypal in two weeks!! They have restricted my account and I have been trying for a month to get an answer out of them. Their reply will be very vague and won't answer any of your questions. The whole company is a rip-off.

I thought of some reasons why you may not know the maiden name of your mother but Paypal does:
1. You were secretly adopted and only Paypal knows the maiden name of your birth mother.
2. Your mother was placed in the Witness Protection Program before you were born and only Paypal knows her maiden name before being placed in the program.
3. Your ancestors changed their name when they immigrated to America from Smyth to Smith and Paypal needs the true original maiden name of your mother.
4. You were actually cloned and since there would be no mother there would be no maiden name...only Paypal knows this information.
You wondered why Paypal was so obsessed with obtaining everyone's bank account information it was so they could investigate and discover the true correct answer to the question...."What is your mother's maiden name?"
