HI all -
Tell me if I have missed something, but after reading posts here and looking at the USPS site, I can't find anything about rates for Special Standard/Book Rate. Are they remaining the same or also going up?
A lot of my customers choose book rate already, and with those new rates for Priority, I see that becoming even more the trend if Book Rate stays the same.

From what I've read it looks like Special Standard/Book rate is now called Media Mail.
Here are the rates:
3.0 MEDIA MAIL
Weight Not Over (pounds) Single- Piece
1lb $1.30
2lb 1.75
3lb 2.20
4lb 2.65
5lb 3.10
6lb 3.55
7lb 4.00
8lb 4.30
9lb 4.60
10lb 4.90
kerrydaway here and there......
kerrydaway1 at that other place

The PO has the right to open packages to see if they really qualify for those reduced rates. I've had several clerks ask me, even though I had the package plainly marked BOOK, "IS it a book?" Bet there will be more of that, and many will be checked out, now that the Media Mail rate looks even more attractive, compared to other rates.
edited to delete winking smiley (how did he get in there, anyway!)

They are free to open my boxes [as long as they re-seal them!] because all they are going to find is...a nice book!
