Isn't Ebay located in California.
I have been hearing on the news that there is a serious electrical power shortage in Califonia and black-outs may occur at any time. If this is true does that mean that Ebay's site may go down from a lack of energy to run their computers and such.
Does Ebay have back-up power for just such emergencies or are we all $crewed if it does happen. Would a black-out still prevent access from the users of their site even if they have backup power?
I don't know if it's safe to list auctions until at least the electrical energy problems are stabilized a little better.

Yellowstone,
The power "emergency" is in Southern California....San Diego area. To keep power grids going here the powers that be are buying power from Northern California....where Ebay is located. They are in San Jose.
Northern California has plenty of power.
Or so I'm told by local news agencies.
Just a note to all online auctioneers. Don't let your local utility companies deregulate until enough power plants are available to create competition.

PG&E is re-activating power plants which had been disabled for years, in anticipation of a huge increase of demand, due to more severe weather conditions. However, just as Hospital and State buildings and others, they would be able to operate (no pun, there) their generators...Kind of a limping, but better than no walking....
Hopefully, it won't happen right away...Xmas Sales are bad enough, in Malls as well as Online...
