On a day like today when I have packages that need to go out yet my car is still buried in the ice..I'm looking into this service.
I normally will be carrying my boxes to the p.o myself(instead of paying them $8 to pick it up)so I'm wondering if it is worth the extra $ each month. Any opinions???

I use it and I love it! I don't usually have very many packages, so I use the low use plan. The only disadvantage is if you need to insure a package you still have to take it to the counter to activate the insurance. Other than that, it has saved me quite a few trips to the post office!

I've used Stamps.com since January and wouldn't be without it! I'm on the heavy use plan -- $15.99 per month + cost of postage. I mail anywhere from four to 12 packages a day.
It's saved me tons of time in line at the PO.
I also use U-PIC insurance, so I spend even less time at the PO.

The only time I stand in line is when I have an international package.

We have used them for more than a year with only the rare complaint. The time saved is WAY worth the $15.99 a month.

I possitively love it and have had it since it started. They are improving it all the time. It saves so much time and I still take the boxes to the post office myself. My PO Clerks love me! They don't cringe when they see me coming as I may have many packages (I use a bag lady cart sometimes to hall it all it all in to the PO Box). I am IN and OUT in no time and really hate it myself when I left standing there behind someone else that does not use stamps.com (this happens when I have insured goods and need the tags stamped) But once I get up there I am gone in within a minute as my clerks know the postage is already on the packages and all they have to do is grab the insurance tags off and hit them with the stamp. The people behind me always smile at me when I am done in just a minute (you can always hear them sigh when they get behind me in line, but after I get to the counter and I am gone in just a minute, they always smile!)

Order your forms from USPS or ask your post office to give you a fat supply to fill out in advance.

Stamps.com now offers Parcel Post Postage...!

One other IMPORTANT point:

Make sure you have a scale! Stamps.com is great, but with the new Priority Mail rates coming next year, an ounce or two will definitely make a difference.
