Ebay had a better idea,Jam up the collectables. It worked on the jewelry people.
Jewelry was at 300,000 auctions untill the big change,Now because they would not leave things alone,The jewelry auctions are at
97,246.Go to the home page and run thru the catagorys,Most will load within 1 minute.
Click on collectables and you will sit for 3 to 4 minutes. The strangest part of the collectables catagorys is the double listings,Dolls? There is a main catagory for them,Many of the items belong in toys or pottery and glass.A newbie is not going to sit thru this muck and mire.ebay wants to attract the big companys to their site,The big companys come because you are there. If it were not for You,The companys would simply sell from their own site,And for a lot less.
You are ebay,Without you,There is no ebay !I read in tag this morning that the overall auctions are down over 1 million. This is not a sky is falling post,Hopefully it is a wakeup call for ebay.

I have to tell you, junquemama, I used to browse/shop the jewelry category with regularity. The main categories I browsed were fine:antique and gold:antique...it was great to have pins, rings, bracelets, charms, etc...altogether, in each category.
Now, I'd have to go through 5 or 6 different categories to find the same stuff, so I don't bother. I can understand why the listings are down.

Julesy, ebay goofed big time on the jewelery. They should have left it alone and maybe added a couple of catagories. The same reason you no longer shop there, is the same reason no one else is shopping there.Did you notice Yahoo, now has all the jewelry auctions ,ebay lost? ebay handed the jewelry sellers to yahoo on a silver platter.
