Just received this in response to my EOA email:
OFFICIAL RESPONSE TO YOUR RECENT E MAIL TO xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am replying to your e mail on behalf of my employer. He is among those individuals that due to their political and financial profiles wish to remain anonymous. Therefore, all ebay business except the bidding of course will be conducted by myself. My employer hopes that you will not be uncomfortable with this arrangement. Please inspect our feedback and read some of the remarks as we are good solid ebayers and enjoy the fun of doing business with folks that don't place the proverbial bullseye on your forehead......Lets have fun......
Makes me wonder who I'm really doing business with!

I responded to them that it wasn't a problem but I just need a mailing address to address the package to. Guess what I got? The exact same email. Ugh.

When a personal assistant conducts business for a person who wishes to remain anonymous they generally do not announce that fact. Kinda defeats the purpose of anonymity, doesn't it?
I think what you have here is possibly the beginnings of the scam. Note that the person is making it very clear that although they are the one you correspond with, receive payment from, and ship to, they are NOT the person who placed the bid.
Then again, if "they" do have good feedback as suggested, who knows?

This is kinda confusing.
They have 110 feedback, all positives, no negs.
When I go to their "Me" page, there are 2 paragraphs.
I truly enjoy doing business on ebay and the folks I meet are a true blessing.I do all the shopping and bidding, but because of my public persona I am a great deal more comfortable letting my trusted friend handle the business side.I hope you will be comfortable with this arrangemant as I enjoy this a lot. It's very therapudic.Best Wishes,"BERT" (Real name is not signed Bert, just an example)
2nd Paragraph:
As you can see by the previous paragraph,my employer loves to trade on ebay.Although he must remain anonymous, all of the on line transactions will be with him.Only the payment and shipping will be handled by me.I hope you'll enjoy doing business with us, Thanks,"ERNIE"(Not really signed Ernie, another example)
Now - this is the confusing part. The EMAIL I received - is signed from "BERT" - who says he handles all the correspondence, etc., for his employer, ERNIE. BUT - on their ME page, ERNIE is the one who handles the correspondence and BERT is the "anonymous" person.

They bought a clothing item from me - a men's sportcoat. They have sold nothing in the past 30 days at least and their feedback shows that they have only purchased - not sold anything on ebay.

LOL! Maybe a split personality?
I agree that it is odd that they would go out of their way to display how much their anonymity means to them and why, when it really isn't an issue in the first place.

ExecutiveGirl ...
I doubt the person's financial or political profile is THAT famous. A real celebrity would use their office address as the eBay contact address and have the checks made out by an assistant without braying loudly about their celebrity-hood.
