I've had some pretty harsh criticisms of eBay here lately. To be fair, I'd like to give credit where credit is due.

Had a FVF credit tonight (about a dozen or so this week). I don't usually leave negative feedback for non-payment, but this was kind of an expensive item. Not the kind of item a high school kid would bid on. Anyway, I checked the bidder's feedback and went to leave a complaint.

The bidder had a (0) rating with five complaints total. One for non-shipment, the other four for non-payment. Looks like NPB/FVF caught up with the user. He was already NARU. Although it came too late to help me, at least the deadbeat isn't sabotaging other sellers' auctions.

With eBay's old system, the bidder would have been free to continue deadbeating indefinitely, as long as he paid for a few items as well. I wholeheartedly approve of eBay's "four FVFs and yer out" rule.

I like this system too. I hope more sellers use it and not be intimidated by feedback. The system only works when it is utilized.
