I listed all of our auctions yesterday using 2 categories (expecting to pay for 1). Now I noticed that all listing fees including the second category were credited. Needless to say, I'm happy about that.

I listed over 300+ items yesterday and used the "2 category" listings for every auction. Yesterday was well worth it for me!

THANK YOU, EBAY, for the free listing day!!!

I second that..I listed close to 400 auctions yesterday & was amazed at how well the ebay system kept working. Only 1 or 2 small outages lasting only a few minutes. AND myebay & search were still functioning.
Bravo ebay..but why can't we have this level of system reliability ALL the time.
And before it had even ended yesterday, BIN sales were rolling in the door!

just saw this post and am I pissed. I have been checking the announcement board for 2 months waiting for the free listing day and I can't believe I missed it. It is a real kick in the face to someone who supports their site by listing 10 -15 auctions a week for 3 years and ebay has to sneak this in with no notice at all. I don't have the time to camp out on these boards to save $10.00.
I can see why they wouldn't advertise it two weeks in advance, but gee an email the day of the free listing would be appreciated. it just shows they care more about profit then they do about the people who got them where they are today.

ebaynut: I would be upset, too. I never read the Ebay announcements board so I would have missed it. I read this board a lot, and I could tell from posts earlier in December that long-time ebayers here had a good idea what to expect. They predicted the day weeks ahead of time. I was checking constantly as the 20th approached.
On the other hand, this fall there were two other free listing day promotions, one by Goto.com and the other by ExchangePath/AW. I wonder if this is a trend, or a one time deal by these web sites to get better visability?
It will be sort of boring to go back to listing and paying fees! ; - ) I hope to be more active on Yahoo in 2001, though.
