Over a week ago, December 13, I sent out a Priority package to the United States for a sale of four Polo watches. I have the receipt with the bidder's zip code on it as proof. However, he claims he still has not received them, which I believe. Is Priority mail running this slow? This was a large dutch auction and everyone else has received their watches in a timely fashion. I told him to give it a few more days incase it is just running slow.

However, if it still doesn't arrive by, say, Christmas, what is supposed to be done? This bidder has over 60 positive feedbacks with no negatives, however he has recently become NARU. Can he still file for insurance with eBay? I haven't asked him why he became NARU, just noticed it though. I need some suggestions on what to do. If I have proof of shipment, am I responsible for anything? Insurance was not clearly stated as being allowed for a certain amount, but if asked I insure packages.

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

There have been several people here reporting slow Priority transit times. I don't know what may be their slowdown but since Dec 1, I have shipped approximately 225 Priority packages and my transit times have been outstanding, especially for the load of the season. About 60% is getting to its destination within 2 days. The remainder is mostly 3 days. I use electronic postage so I'm not sure if the pre-ZIP+4 verified barcoding helps that much or if the 2-dimensional barcode on the postage is assisting in the routing since it has the destination ZIP built in.

I just know that this year things have been going much faster for me than last year which ranged from 3 - 7 days on Priority.

A lot depends on where its going to. With several MAJOR snowstorms hitting the USA, Priority is not moving as fast as usual.

They DO NOT have planes that can fly when airports are closed. Keep an aye on the weather and airport closings, especially Chicago (major mail sorting facility there).

I received a payment from a customer today , sent in a priority envelope. The date on the postage was 12-14. It had to come from Ohio to Missouri. Since he obviosly wanted this as a gift, I hurried to ship it out today when my husband went to town. I then wrote the bidder, and explained I had just received his payment. He was not surprised. He'd had another priority mail take 8 days. Will he receive his priority mail in time? I somehow doubt it. I am waiting on a payment that was supposed to be shipped priority. It hasn't arrived yet, and should have been here yesterday. It's coming from Texas, and those are usually pretty fast.

And if 7-8 day "Priority" mail isn't bad enough, did anyone else see (around Dec 17th) the USPS' tv ad for the extra $1.00 you could pay to get your packages delivered by xmas? huh?

My response? The USPS can bite me!
