I read the threads concerning marking your pix with a copyright and also the complaint that they were annoying. I see both points here. I'm not in a position to try this out as we've stopped auctioning for the week but I work hard on my pictures too and this topic has me distracted. See what you think. I read here once upon a time about sellers that do keyword spamming using a font in the same color as the background so it's there but doesn't show up. (Thank you! The next day I did a search for a product and that very thing was going on. I was ticked - pages and pages of unrelated merchandise - but by that evening those auctions had been pulled.) What if you wrote out the copyright info in the same color as the background (maybe right up next to the item where it would be uncroppable)or in a block of color the item might have? It wouldn't show up on your photo but it would be there. It wouldn't show up on a copied photo either but it would be there too! "Selecting" it for copying may highlight it and make it appear and be proof. I guess a thief could always paint it out of the copy though. Would it work?

It might fool them for awhile, but the dialog box for the text still can be shown and deleted or by using the font color command they can change colors to find the text.
The best way might be to put the copyright "in" the picture rather than "on" the picture.
If you use a camera or scanner, put your business card or something else personalized "in" the picture. It can be cropped out, but you will have an original showing what was/is in the cropped area.
However, with the power of the new graphic software, you can crop and brush using a pallett of color right from the original picture with out a trance. Can't believe your eyes anymore with digital imaging.
